Week 2 Report

Eagles FC     2   -   0     Headhunters FC
Eagles held on to their winning streak with a 2-0 win over Headhunters, with a quick goal in the 8th minute by Mmediong who headed the ball right over Gk Marko. Eagles had more chances to attack in the likes of Fejiro, Nadun, Mmediong, Landy and Kimu while Headhunters played a more defensive mode. In the second half, Headhunters were given a free kick right outside the box but Avinash failed to materialize. Marko notably made a few good saves but Landy managed to score in the 55th minute, with a cross by Nadun from the left. Man of the match was Nadun.

Kelkatu FC     6   -   0     Pappadam FC
Fresh from an epic win last week, Kelkatu once again took 3 points home. Kelkatu played a very offensive game with tries by Tompoq, Ringo and Mamat and all that paid off after 16 minutes when Azam scored. Less than 10 minutes later, Azam crossed a stunning ball to Mamat, who headed the ball into the back of the net. Determined to be unbeatable, Mamat scored another goal just one minute later, dribbling right pass the gk's nose. Into the second half, Farouk crossed a ball to Amirul, who added to the score line, 3 to none. 2 minutes later, Amirul returned the favor and Farouk scored. A penalty was then conceded by Pappadam's Tamil due to a hand ball inside the box. Tompoq took the penalty, and he took it well. Before the game ended in Kelkatu's favor, Tamil was shown another yellow, adding up to a red, and will be banned for one match. Man of the match was Kelkatu's Farouk.

Rivals FC     1   -   3     Trinity FC
Back from a disappointing loss last week, Trinity came back to the field determined to win. Munya added the 2nd goal to his league with a top left corner goal in the 14th minute. Jorden had an upsetting miss when his shot went wide after a one on one with the gk Kuda. Taha's shot 2 minutes later also went just above the post. 7 minutes into the second half, Trinity scores again thanks to a stunning goal by Baller, who left-footed the ball into the goal as Tammam watched on. Rivals' defense was notably a bit off that day. 10 minutes later, Shepherd scored after making a terrific run from the center line and passing the defense. In the 51st minute, Martin was shown a yellow for rough push on Taha, who scores the lone goal for Rivals, after a cross by Lingesh. Man of the match was Baller.

Galacticos FC     1   -   0     UFC
This match resulted in a flurry of emotions among everybody; disappointment on Galacticos' behalf and impressiveness on UFC's. Galacticos are very evidently missing previous sem's players such as PK and Celestine. They however, had the upper hand of the match with tries by JJ, Venket, Steve and Mohsen but none of the tries made it to goals. In the 28th minute, UFC's Naqi made a very interesting defensive move by slapping off Steve's free kick and was given an instant red card (will be banned for 2 matches). Steve takes the penalty and takes the lead for Galacticos. Galacticos had a few more chances to add up to the score through Danny Ooi and Kelvin but they were saved by UFC's Gk Basil. In the 55th minute, UFC had the chance to equalize when Ragu took a shot when the defense was clear but it hit the top of the post instead. Man of the match was Ralph, for preserving the defense.

Week 1 Report

 Headhunters     0   -   0     Galacticos
The first game of the league started off with newcomers Head Hunters and old favorites Galacticos. Head Hunters, though a new team, contained several 'old' players such as previously Galacticos' Best Defender Celestine. Back to play against his old team, Celestine did a splendid job guarding his goal. There were a number of attempts by Galacticos early into the first half with the likes of Kelvin, JJ and Robert. However, it was Julian's shot that left mouths hanging wide open. With a clear error on Galacticos' part, Julian's shot missed the goal just by an inch and hit the bar instead. Headhunters' Fabian notably made a few good tries. Into the second half, a cross from Steve resulted in a solid shot by Robert, whose shot went slightly wide. Steve also made a few more remarkably good attempts that created chances for Galacticos to take the lead, but unfortunately none materialized. He was then awarded Man of the Match.

Yellow cards: Ralph & Brian (both Galacticos)

Rivals FC     9   -   0     UFC
Rivals FC is brought to you by the combination of previous champions Sabah FC and Machanz FC. Both teams have decided to merge due to the lack of their own players who have left. UFC is also no stranger to people leaving as almost half of their previous players have left to form Headhunters. Both teams, with relatively almost new players, face each other. Rivals were very apparently having the advantage with several strikes by Lingesh, Raj and Taha. In the 16th minute, Lingesh's shot was met with Justin's arm and the referee ruled out a penalty against UFC. The first goal of the day was scored by Jorden. Lingesh made it two to none just one minute later. Shortly before the 1st half ended, Taha brought an outstandingly solo ball into the box and then into the net, adding the goal score to 3 to 0. Just 2 minutes into the second half, Nan scores. Berty had a great attempt after wards, but UFC's Basil made the save. Lingesh then scores again, with swift assisting by fellow Machanz Raj, who himself scores 7 minutes later. Taha then tried again, but this time the ball hit the top post and into Basil's eager hands. Lingesh then scores the hat trick with another goal. Then shortly after entering the field, Vijay adds the final goal to Rivals, resulting in a very solid, convincing 9-0. Lingesh was awarded the Man of the Match.

Trinity FC     3   -   5     Kelkatu FC
Foreseen as a tough match, Trinity made it look easy with a very quick goal by Munya less than 1 minute into the game, thanks to a through pass by Baller. 7 minutes later, Baller assists again yet another goal, taken nicely by Shepherd. Kelkatu then fought back, with tries by Tompoq, Amirul and Farouk but it was Baller who brought the ball into the back of the net, ending the first half with 3 goals to none. 5 minutes into the second half, Kelkatu's striving determination paid off in a goal by Amirul, crossed by Mamat who just entered the field as a sub. 4 minutes later, Mamat soars the ball pass Kuda's hands, bringing the competition closer. Then the equalizer comes in the form of Amirul, through Azam's cross. Amirul then had the closest chance to take the lead with an open shot that was knocked out by Trinity's Dannie directly on the line. Baller had a few tries that went wide, unable to take back the lead. Kelkatu then made an exceedingly remarkable comeback with another goal by Amirul, making it his third for the day. Adding salt to the wound, which involved another shot by Baller gone bad (hit the post), Fakhril scores the final goal, making it a comfortable win for Kelkatu, who went from being 3-0 down in the first half to winning 5-3 in the end. Mamat was named the Man of the Match.

Eagles FC     9   -   0     Pappadam FC
Old favorites Eagles find themselves against newly formed Pappadam FC. Eagles took an early lead with a goal by Kimu in 5 minutes. 4 minutes later, midfielder Mmediong takes a long shot, that lobbed over the goal keeper and into the goal. Fejiro adds on to the score with another shot that lobbed over Pappadam's gk Rishi. Landy then made it 4 with a cross by Mmediong just before the 1st half closed. Fejiro then made a exceptional run from his defense position and places the ball comfortably behind the opposition's net, where it seemed to belong that day. A penalty was then conceded by Pappadam when the ball made contact with Hafeel's arm. Ope, who seemed to not have touched the ball, took the penalty but it went wide. Mmediong (2), Nadun and Salim scored after that, resulting in Mmediong being not only the 3rd person to score a hat trick this week, but also the Man of the Match.

Cahaya Taufik Community Cup Sem 1, 2010 report

SABAH FC  0 - 1  EAGLES FC

This semester, just like every other, CFC scheduled a Community Match between last semester's top 2 teams. This is an event to promote football in Curtin as well as to honor the two top teams from the previous league.
This Community Cup this semester is between previous Champions Sabah FC and 1st runners-up Eagles FC. The event was kindly sponsored by Cahaya Taufik Restaurant.
VIPs at the event: Mr Azhar (club advisor) and Chuma (Student Council president). Unfortunately, Mr. Johan (owner of CTR) was unable to attend the event.

Chuma taking the penalty shoot out for the opening ceremony

This semester, Sabah FC and Machanz FC have decided to merge together into one team. This has resulted in the Sabah team playing for the Community Cup to involve both previous Sabah and Machanz players.
Eagles FC also 'borrowed' a few players from other teams such as Baller, Steve and Celestine.

Eagles FC took the lead just after 3 minutes into the game with a goal by Trinity's Baller. He tapped the goal into the net with assisting by Salim.

Some notable tries were by Amirul, Baller, Landy, Raj, Steve, and Taha.

Sabah had a brilliant chance to equalize when Ope stumbled out of his supposed goal keeping position and Raj took a shot at the goal but Celestine managed to rob the goal off Sabah by blocking off the goal right at the line.

In the last few crucial minutes of the game, Taha had a very close shot which went just slightly over the net.
