Cahaya Taufik Community Cup Sem 1, 2010 report
SABAH FC 0 - 1 EAGLES FC
This semester, just like every other, CFC scheduled a Community Match between last semester's top 2 teams. This is an event to promote football in Curtin as well as to honor the two top teams from the previous league.
This Community Cup this semester is between previous Champions Sabah FC and 1st runners-up Eagles FC. The event was kindly sponsored by Cahaya Taufik Restaurant.
VIPs at the event: Mr Azhar (club advisor) and Chuma (Student Council president). Unfortunately, Mr. Johan (owner of CTR) was unable to attend the event.

This semester, Sabah FC and Machanz FC have decided to merge together into one team. This has resulted in the Sabah team playing for the Community Cup to involve both previous Sabah and Machanz players.
Eagles FC also 'borrowed' a few players from other teams such as Baller, Steve and Celestine.
Eagles FC took the lead just after 3 minutes into the game with a goal by Trinity's Baller. He tapped the goal into the net with assisting by Salim.
Some notable tries were by Amirul, Baller, Landy, Raj, Steve, and Taha.
Sabah had a brilliant chance to equalize when Ope stumbled out of his supposed goal keeping position and Raj took a shot at the goal but Celestine managed to rob the goal off Sabah by blocking off the goal right at the line.
In the last few crucial minutes of the game, Taha had a very close shot which went just slightly over the net.

More pictures will be up on Facebook.
The league begins next Saturday (13th) and all teams are again reminded that payment and registration of teams are due on Wednesday (10th) and the draw for the league will be on the 11th.
Also to be noted is that Curtin will be sending a representative team to participate in the World Cup Miri 2010 tournament. Players selected will be listed after confirmation with the committee members.
See you again next week!
