Week 1 Report

 Headhunters     0   -   0     Galacticos
The first game of the league started off with newcomers Head Hunters and old favorites Galacticos. Head Hunters, though a new team, contained several 'old' players such as previously Galacticos' Best Defender Celestine. Back to play against his old team, Celestine did a splendid job guarding his goal. There were a number of attempts by Galacticos early into the first half with the likes of Kelvin, JJ and Robert. However, it was Julian's shot that left mouths hanging wide open. With a clear error on Galacticos' part, Julian's shot missed the goal just by an inch and hit the bar instead. Headhunters' Fabian notably made a few good tries. Into the second half, a cross from Steve resulted in a solid shot by Robert, whose shot went slightly wide. Steve also made a few more remarkably good attempts that created chances for Galacticos to take the lead, but unfortunately none materialized. He was then awarded Man of the Match.

Yellow cards: Ralph & Brian (both Galacticos)

Rivals FC     9   -   0     UFC
Rivals FC is brought to you by the combination of previous champions Sabah FC and Machanz FC. Both teams have decided to merge due to the lack of their own players who have left. UFC is also no stranger to people leaving as almost half of their previous players have left to form Headhunters. Both teams, with relatively almost new players, face each other. Rivals were very apparently having the advantage with several strikes by Lingesh, Raj and Taha. In the 16th minute, Lingesh's shot was met with Justin's arm and the referee ruled out a penalty against UFC. The first goal of the day was scored by Jorden. Lingesh made it two to none just one minute later. Shortly before the 1st half ended, Taha brought an outstandingly solo ball into the box and then into the net, adding the goal score to 3 to 0. Just 2 minutes into the second half, Nan scores. Berty had a great attempt after wards, but UFC's Basil made the save. Lingesh then scores again, with swift assisting by fellow Machanz Raj, who himself scores 7 minutes later. Taha then tried again, but this time the ball hit the top post and into Basil's eager hands. Lingesh then scores the hat trick with another goal. Then shortly after entering the field, Vijay adds the final goal to Rivals, resulting in a very solid, convincing 9-0. Lingesh was awarded the Man of the Match.

Trinity FC     3   -   5     Kelkatu FC
Foreseen as a tough match, Trinity made it look easy with a very quick goal by Munya less than 1 minute into the game, thanks to a through pass by Baller. 7 minutes later, Baller assists again yet another goal, taken nicely by Shepherd. Kelkatu then fought back, with tries by Tompoq, Amirul and Farouk but it was Baller who brought the ball into the back of the net, ending the first half with 3 goals to none. 5 minutes into the second half, Kelkatu's striving determination paid off in a goal by Amirul, crossed by Mamat who just entered the field as a sub. 4 minutes later, Mamat soars the ball pass Kuda's hands, bringing the competition closer. Then the equalizer comes in the form of Amirul, through Azam's cross. Amirul then had the closest chance to take the lead with an open shot that was knocked out by Trinity's Dannie directly on the line. Baller had a few tries that went wide, unable to take back the lead. Kelkatu then made an exceedingly remarkable comeback with another goal by Amirul, making it his third for the day. Adding salt to the wound, which involved another shot by Baller gone bad (hit the post), Fakhril scores the final goal, making it a comfortable win for Kelkatu, who went from being 3-0 down in the first half to winning 5-3 in the end. Mamat was named the Man of the Match.

Eagles FC     9   -   0     Pappadam FC
Old favorites Eagles find themselves against newly formed Pappadam FC. Eagles took an early lead with a goal by Kimu in 5 minutes. 4 minutes later, midfielder Mmediong takes a long shot, that lobbed over the goal keeper and into the goal. Fejiro adds on to the score with another shot that lobbed over Pappadam's gk Rishi. Landy then made it 4 with a cross by Mmediong just before the 1st half closed. Fejiro then made a exceptional run from his defense position and places the ball comfortably behind the opposition's net, where it seemed to belong that day. A penalty was then conceded by Pappadam when the ball made contact with Hafeel's arm. Ope, who seemed to not have touched the ball, took the penalty but it went wide. Mmediong (2), Nadun and Salim scored after that, resulting in Mmediong being not only the 3rd person to score a hat trick this week, but also the Man of the Match.
